The end of suffering is near for patients who have been seeking better healthcare conditions at the New Brighton Clinic, with the completion of the new Tshangana Street clinic. The new clinic will be open for business in June this year.

The Municipality ploughed R3.5 million into the construction of the new clinic. The new state-of-the-art clinic is equipped with the latest equipment, and furniture and security systems. The new clinic is also more spacious, with more room made for private consultations.

In September last year, Ubuntu reported that construction had started on the multi-million rand Youth Centre in the Walmer Gqebera Township, as well as the upgrading of the Advice Centre. The project is currently in advanced stages, with construction progressing at a steady pace.

It is estimated that the Walmer Youth Centre will be ready before the end of this year.

The Youth Centre comes at a cost of R16 million and will be built over a period of 14 months, while the upgrading of the Advice Centre will cost R12 million and is expected to take 10 months to reach completion.
